Emiliano Soraire
Emiliano Ezequiel Soraire, also known as IMIX, is a visual artist from Argentina who has lived in Berlin since 2021. He was drawn to drawing from an early age, and as a teenager he got involved in graffiti and muralism. In 2013 he began studying at the Antonio Berni School of Visual Arts in Buenos Aires, training in fine arts and teaching. He taught himself digital media to make both illustrations and graphic pieces.
Today his work spans mixed-media canvases (spray, brush, markers, stencil), murals, linocuts, drawings and digital illustration. He also ran his own clothing line, IMIX.
His style keeps core elements from his early years, when comics and manga were his main influences. It grew through graffiti in his teens and widened with fine-arts training and contact with other movements.
He describes a spiritual element in his work. Not the surface kind, where everything is harmony and light, but something closer to Jung: integrating the shadow to become whole and to keep growing.
